With costumes ranging from graceful butterflies to gory monster killers to wild west Yellowstone characters and more, enthusiasm made the day “Boo” tiful. The best cart decoration award went to Darla Beaty, Rachel Beaty, Jill Marangoni and Darla Kirby; the dead body on top of the cart clinched the win. The best costume award went to the Yellowstone star team of Sharon Powell, Donna Moore, Amy Thomison, and Sue DeFrancesco.
The golf team winners were:
1st place Darla Beaty, Rachel Beaty, Darla Kirby and Jill Marangoni
2nd place Amy Thomison, Sharon Powell, Donna Moore and Sue DeFrancesco
Closest to the Pin on Hole 4 – Helen Rowland
Closest to the Squiggly Line – tied Nancy Armstrong and Soozie Zysk
The golf experience included games such as putting around a spider on Hole 4, evading signs on Hole 13 green and chipping into a grave site on Hole 9. Additionally, Golf Professional Angelina Vinson provided the tee shot on Hole one for all the teams and a $20.00 donation per team for the Susan G. Komen benefit resulted in $160 to be donated from WLGA and quadrupled by Bank of America. Judy Picot graciously facilitated the donation. Door prizes, including pumpkins decorated by Mary Celentani, were given as well as and drawings for tee prizes.
Loyal supporters of the WGLA included Al Dobos and John Picot who served beverages on the 6th hole, and Bob Annen (Mary Celentani’s husband) who helped with the graveyard game. Of course Josh Peschel, Assistant Pro and Bob Kirkelie, Head Pro, ensured the tournament ran smoothly and Member Events Coordinator, Meagan Justice, provided coordination for the facility and the luncheon.
